Tickets for the Broadway premiere of Shrek The Musical will go on sale this Saturday, May 31 at 8:00 a.m. Tickets will be available from May 31 by calling Telecharge.com at (212) 239-6200, (800) 432-7250 outside the NY metro area, or online at Telecharge.com.
Shrek The Musical, in which John will play Pinocchio, opens at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway @ 53rd St) in New York City on Sunday, December 14, 2008. Preview performances begin on November 8, 2008.

Nominations for the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced today on ABC’s The View. John was nominated for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series for Johnny and the Sprites; the show received a total of four nominations.
The awards will be presented on Friday, June 20 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and broadcast live on ABC.

The Metropolitan Room will host Avenue Q Swings on Monday, May 12, as a benefit for The Topia Arts Center in Adams, Massachusetts. The show, featuring jazz-inflected arrangements of songs from the hit musical, will feature original stars John Tartaglia, Stephanie D’Abruzzo, and Ann Harada, along with special guests Lea DeLaria, Melissa Fahn, Lauren Flanigan, Mary Cleere Haran, Kate Shindle, and Michael Winther.

Ann Harada, Burke Moses and John Tartaglia have joined the cast of Flopz n’ Cutz 4, to be held at 9:30pm on Sunday, April 6 at Joe’s Pub. The series named a “SMASH!” by NEXT Magazine, aims to acquaint theatre enthusiasts with shows and songs that, while not quite successful in their original incarnations, still have merits that can be showcased in a concert setting.
Proceeds will benefit Animal Haven, a no-kill pet shelter and adoption center. More info and online ticketing can be found here.
